What is an eyelid correction?

An upper eyelid correction (blepharoplasty) is a minor procedure intended to improve the appearance of the eyes. Due to excess skin and sagging of the eyelids, the eyes can look tired or sleepy.

Reasons for opting for upper eyelid correction can also be medical. For example, severe or fatigue-related eye strain, headaches, or eye irritation.

How does the treatment work?

Under local anesthesia, excess skin and, if necessary, fat are removed from the upper eyelids for a fresh eye socket.

The treatment usually proceeds in a few steps:

  • cleansing of the skin and local anesthesia
  • marking the natural crease of the eyelid
  • removal of excess skin
  • possible correction of fat tissue
  • closing the skin with fine sutures

  • Treatment duration

    45 minutes, bilateral.

The treatment is performed under local anesthesia and is usually carried out on an outpatient basis.
